CODEL Continuous
Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMs) are
certified to operate under European
Directive EN14181 “Stationary Source
Emissions”. This standard, sub headed
“Quality Assurance of Automated
Measuring Systems” describes the minimum
performance requirements of
instrumentation for Automated Measuring
Systems (AMS) – also known as Continuous
Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMs).
The standard applies
primarily to processes regulated by the
LCPD (Large Combustion Plant Directive),
where continuous monitoring is required
for plant larger than 100MW, and WID
(Waste Incineration Directive) although
local legislators have adopted EN 14181
for other types of industrial plant.
EN 14181 describes a
quality assurance strategy based upon 4
separate levels of assurance. The
requirements at each level are detailed
in the selectable diagrams below.
