CEMS Extractive Gas Monitor Case Study:

The customer was using a cold dry extractive gas analyser for NOx compliance monitoring which was reported to be old and unreliable due to lack of maintenance which is a heavy requirement of this measurement technique. The customer was looking to replace this system but had reservations on investing in another extractive gas analyser. ESC / Monitoring Solutions offered the CODEL In-Situ GCEM40 Series but due to the installation being immediately after the the ESP, this caused vibration on the chimney stack resulting in a measurement which wasn’t ideal.
The Solution
CODEL offered a more suitable solution by means of upgrading the In-Situ GCEM40 to the GCEM40E, CODEL’s Hot Wet Extractive version in order to eliminate any vibration related issues.
The CODEL GCEM40E analyser was installed in August 2022 with a requirement to be in operation before the upcoming EPA test. In January 2023 we assisted plant operators to check the 40E analyser prior to the EPA source test.
The CODEL 40E analyser is running flawlessly offering low maintenance, high reliability and very small span gas consumption in comparison to fully compliant CEMS.
The Result
