CODEL tunnel sensors are designed exclusively for road tunnel applications. Our range of sensors provide all the essential measurements necessary to monitor and control the tunnel atmosphere.

Whilst the initial cost to install analysers into the tunnel may seem significant the energy savings achieved over a period of just one year can show a substantial return on the initial outlay.

This can be evidenced in a road tunnel that had fans operating continuously for 24 hours per day. As a result, the energy consumption was very high. In this situation it is impossible to control the power consumption of the fans due to the lack of air quality analysers (CO, NO, NO₂, Visibility & flow) present.

CODEL TunnelTech analysers were subsequently installed into the tunnel and achieved a massive 40% reduction in electricity usage. This economy achieved over the period of just one year allowed for a 100% return on the initial investment.

The diagram below shows data recorded in the tunnel over a period of 5 days clearly demonstrating the energy savings that can be achieved.

Available as stand-alone sensors or integrated into a network system, CODEL’s tunnel sensors are installed in over 500 road and rail tunnels worldwide.

CODEL offers a complete and comprehensive range of solutions for monitoring tunnel pollutants both single and multi-channel to cover all user requirements.
